My name is Milé and I'm currently putting together the program for Clay & Paper's "We Need Help!" summer show. I've seen your "Spoiled" comic and now the one page you've provided for the program. I am very, very impressed with your work. You've got a nicely polished drawing/painting style and good storytelling skills. I'm putting together my own comic book but it's slow-going as my cartooning skills are weak (I'm primarily a painter: www.kebapi.com), but your work is certainly an inspiration. I look forward to meeting you at a WNH show soon. Great work!
Butternuts-uknowwho directed me here, gonna stay tuned... comming from the land (Norway) where goverement has bet our all old age fortunes on oil crises kind of has to :-)
Heyy.. its same here. I get peak oil mini nightmares. Unfortunately unlike optimistic attitude you have, mine has been more of john kunstler's "long emergency" kind :) I wish that everyone has your perspective on life ;
SPOILED, my print comic about a boy, his mother and his grandfather as his connection to Nature gets sidetracked when he discovers, and then loses, petroleum. An allegory about humankind and our inherent connection to the natural world, even in this brief era of fossil fuels. Visit my online store to order your copy.
Want hard-core details on how to live in the city sustainably and without oil or electricity?
What people are saying about Luz, Girl of The Knowing
The Ephemerist says "...you can already tell that this is one of those high concept endeavours that cannot fail. The subject is timely (what knowledge will we need to survive in a world without oil), the art is spotless and the general feel is warm, empathic, worthwile... This is without a doubt one more webcomic on my weekly list."
Scott of Zhi says "...Luz is only four strips young but I think it has some clear potential. It's a surrealist trip into modern city life. It feels like a very personal exploration of what it means to be human and poetry seems to interweave amidst the words. There's a political motive behind the strip but it hasn't sufficiently emerged as yet. The linework is crisp against a beige monotone and the narrative looks as if it might develop into something quite interesting."

Beautiful!
I love comics that are both adorable and utterly terrifying! Kinda like 'Herman'.
I sometimes have Peak Oil mini-nightmares.
Not even joking...
Thanks, Steve!
You made me laugh so hard with the Herman reference... : P
Awesome. Keep it up Claudia! It will be interesting to see what type of story arc develops.

Thanks, Dave! I'll try to keep it interesting. :-)
Mile, thanks for writing! I love your fringe poster for this year -- hope I see you at Dufferin Grove.
Arne, our Canadian old age pensions are MIA! I think Norway will have an advantage though.
